Bedrock Quiz Night 2018

We tested the grey matter on Friday 7th September, at the Annual Bedrock Radio Quiz Night.

This year, we had Professional Quiz Master Ian Scott hosting the night for Bedrock, As something extra this year, ticket prices included a fantastic fish n’ chips supper, supplied locally (Romford). Our venue The Romford Royal British Legion and their staff provided us with fantastic hospitality for the night too!

The quiz night raised over £800 for Bedrock, with the funds raised from the event going into the running costs of our health and hospital radio service (such as paying music licences).

Beverly Stroud, Fundraising Officer said “It was a lovely night, and great to see so many teams. A big thank you to all who supposed our Quiz Night, and we look forward to organising the 2019 Quiz”.

Mat Watson

Mat joined Bedrock in 2006, just before the move from Oldchurch Hospital to Queen’s Hospital, today he is our Chairman. He has a keen interest in radio broadcasting and wanted to understand more about production, programming and engineering aspects. He’s even has a qualification in radio production! Mat has worked professionally in broadcast working for commercial, community and online radio stations. But his passion remains with Hospital Radio, he calls it “a unique platform that retains individuality.” Today Mat works in public transport, helping customers with their journeys, but can still be heard on Bedrock on the Sunday Brunch from 10am.
