Team London awards ceremony took place at the City Hall in London on the 31 October 2016.
The event was hosted by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan to acknowledge the local people from different backgrounds that volunteer within London.

Beverley Stroud, Fundraising Manager and presenter at Bedrock was awarded with a Long Service award for her dedication to the charity for over 30 years.

She was presented with her award by Dame Barbara Windsor and Team London Director Laura Brown.

Beverley said: “I had such a great time.  I was honored and proud to receive the long service award, knowing that the bedrock team think so much of me, I really enjoy Bedrock, it has built my confidence.” She added; “I would recommend volunteering because it is rewarding and enjoyable.  I am lucky to work with such great people, they make all the difference.”

Annette Gregory, Personnel Officer said:  “Beverley goes that extra mile for Bedrock Radio,  shes always working on projects from the studio or at home all the while keeping a smile on her face.”

Wayne Hemingway MBE, Ledley King, Harriet Minter and Lesley Owusu were among the celebrity guests also presenting awards on the night.

The Mayor of London said: “Volunteering can help build connections with their fellow Londoners and lead to greater social integration.”

There were many awards presented, Violet Pace a volunteer for Haven House, Redbridge won a long service award and The Havering Volunteer Centre team were nominated for an award.
