The Mayor of Havering and dignitaries from the borough will be raising the flag to celebrate the Commonwealth this month.
The theme will be a celebration of the diversity of the 2 billion people who live in the Commonwealth. Every one of them is different, and each of them has something special to offer.
The Commonwealth is especially important this year of the 90th birthday of her Majesty the Queen, who of course has been its longest Head.
The Commonwealth day event takes place on Monday 14 March, at the Town Hall, Main Road, Romford, RM1 3BD. The Mayor will read a message at 9.50am from HE Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations, followed by the Commonwealth Affirmation before raising the flag at 10.00am.
