On the 24 of March 2018 the National Hospital Radio Awards ceremony took place at the De Vere Beaumont Estate in Windsor.

The event was planned by the Hospital Broadcasting Association.

The event was an opportunity for hospital radio volunteers to come together to celebrate the achievements of the stations that entered.

Radio Brockley were awarded station of the year while a unique award The John Whitney Award went to David Horton of BHBN.

Bedrock radio was nominated for an award for the first time.

Bedrock members Mat Watson, Lee Howe, Julian Clark,  and Annette Flewitt attended the event.

Annette Flewitt said:  “Congratulations to everyone, it was a great evening.  It was nice to meet so many people that shared the same passion.”

The weekend had a full line up of activities including a tour to the Sky Studios and a number of workshops and a trade show.

The awards were revealed after dinner with a disco to close the event.

Best Newcomer was awarded to Tony Knight of Hospital Radio Chelmsford.
