Havering Council activated the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol which ensures rough sleepers are protected and provided for when the temperature drops to low levels.

Emergency accommodation in the form of assessment beds will be made available at a council hostel.

Rough sleepers that have been referred can access the hostel daily between 4pm and 10am.

Referrals should be made through the Homelessness team via the Out of Hours service on 01708 433999.

During the day rough sleepers may attend the Salvation Army or local authority library buildings to get warm.

Thames Reach, the homeless charity works in partnership with the council to provide support.

If you spot a rough sleeper in your area call 01708 432824.
