There  has never been a better time to consider getting fit with the brand new leisure centre that has just opened today in Romford.

The Sapphire Centre is Romford’s premiere Leisure centre with a state of the art gym that also boasts 2 swimming pools and a full sized Ice Skating rink.

The grand opening featured the Mayoress of Havering Linda Van den Hende and councillor Roger Ramsey.

Special celebrity guest Dancing on Ice star Ray Quinn performed on ice for the grand event and signed autographs.

It is hoped the new multi million pound  investment will increase the health and fitness of the people within the borough.

The centre will be managed by Everyone Active and Havering council with a range of memberships available.

The centre will provide a new home to the Raiders Ice hockey team, to complete the 2017-2018 season,  their  first home game will be the first at home in almost 5 years.

Everyone is invited to check out the new centre with free activities over the weekend including face painting and balloon modelling and prizes to be won.
