Harold Wood Station is all set for a makeover as Havering Council and TFL plan a series of major improvements on the Eastern section of the Crossrail route, between Stratford and Shenfield.

The Council wants to  design  a new plaza at the station’s secondary entrance, within the car park, and improve  the pedestrian crossing on Station Road.

The works will incorporate a  step free access onto the platform and a pedestrianized route to and from the station.

There will be a ramp servicing the plaza and Station Road to be incorporated into the public space to provide easy and seamless level transition for all commuters.

Commuters and residents will benefit from improved lighting, seating, adding more bins.

A cycle stand will be added to encourage more cyclists to the area.

These upgrades will  create a pleasant experience for commuters and visitors arriving at the station.

Local residents are invited to take part in a public consultation, for their views on the proposals.

The two-week consultation will run between 15 and 26 February, and will take place at Harold Wood Library – Council representatives will attend on 18 February, and will be available to answer your questions.
