The Old Chapel has been fully restored and is a valuable part of Upminsters history.

The chapel was built in 1800 as a place for the Protestant Dissenters to worship.

The beautiful building often hosts themed talks and welcomes bookings for childrens parties.  The chapel is very much a welcoming building for all the community.

Sarah Robbins Flowerdew, Projects Manager for the Old Chapel and the Upminster Windmill said: “The building was also built by James Noakes there is so much history for the chapel, the last time a service took place was in 1989, however there are now many family events that take place.”

The Old Chapel was bought back by St Marys School for ten thousand pounds, eventually winning a lottery grant to restore.
