Macmillan Coffee Morning

The Queens Hospital hosted a coffee morning on behalf of the charity Macmillan. The team of Volunteers  were serving up cakes to patients and visitors to raise funds. Sara Turle, a volunteer  was delighted with the sucess of the stall, said: “Thank you for everyone’s support”. The ginger cake especially was a firm favourite.  

Blooming Havering

London in Bloom is the Annual Awards that acknowledges local efforts to  improve the outdoor environments. The borough of Havering won 55 awards in total, 8 more than last year. The Large Conservation was awarded to Hornchurch Country Park, and The  Large Park of the Year was won by Raphael’s Park . The best Town Centre won by Elm Park Town Centre. Free Debt Advice

Capitalise is an initiative of Toynbee Hall, a community organisation that is about to relaunch  the project which offers free debt advice to people across the London boroughs. The relaunch on the 17th October 2016, and aims  to make the public aware of the free services available. ‘Womens stories of Ford Dagenham’

The Queens Theatre in Hornchurch has received a £12,000 grant from the  Heritage Lottery Funded for a new exciting project ‘Women’s stories of Ford Dagenham’.
