Bedrock Radio, the Community Hospital Radio station broadcasting to patients of Queen’s (Romford), King George & Goodmayes (Ilford) Hospitals, plus the local community online has complied a chart of ‘Most Requested’ songs and artists made by patients.

Volunteers Marj & Geoff who regularly collect song requests have had a challenging year due to COVID-19, as a result our teams haven’t been able to visit all the wards & departments they usually would. The areas they have visited have been visited in a COVID safe way, with fantastic feedback from patients & staff alike.
However, due to changes in tiers & subsequent lockdowns, Bedrock Radio came up with new solutions, such as asking patients to submit requests & dedications via the Bedrock Radio App, using NHS WiFi in the hospitals.

Volunteer Chris Deighton who compiles a weekly the chart said:

“It’s been a challenging year and has been difficult to make the yearly most requested, but we have still managed to produce something that reflects what patients have been asking us for.

The Bedrock Radio Mobile App has been vital to patients who listen via NHS WiFi, but also allows patients get in touch with the studio, direct & for free via the built-in ‘Message The Studio’ feature.”
