Local Resident Andy Long from Basildon recently worked with Dementia Patients in a local care home. He was so touched by his experience of working in the care home he wanted to help further and is raising funds by running in this years TCS London Marathon on Sunday 26th April.

To Andy’s surprise, he secured a space Marathon and has been training – It was an easy decision for what charity Andy – Dementia UK.

As Andy Says; “it is a charity that is very close to my heart. While I worked at a care home I experienced at first hand how hard it was for people suffering from dementia. Together with the staff they were lovely people who still smiled, laughed and joined in the activities that I did with them.”

Andy joined Asha, to tell us more about how marathon training is going, and told us more about his experience of working with people with Dementia.
