Bedrock Radio’s Asha recently attended the Press Night screening of Tales of the Underworld at the Lumiere Cinema in Romford.
Co-produced and directed by Tony Longhurst through Scruffy Bear Media and Longhurst & Putt Productions, the independent feature was filmed entirely on location in Essex.
The character-driven crime drama serves as a prequel to the popular films Lucas and Albert and The Babysitters, and has already earned a nomination at the 2026 National Film Awards.
Prior to the screening, Asha sat down for an interview with three of the film’s stars:
David Biscoe, Steve Ward, and Gary Hailes.
Hailes is best known for his role as Barry Clark in EastEnders (1986–1989), where he made television history portraying the soap opera’s first openly gay character.
Following its Romford debut, Tales of the Underworld is scheduled for upcoming screenings in Clacton-on-Sea, London, and Lanzarote.
