Capitalise is an initiative of Toynbee Hall, a community organisation that is about to relaunch the project which offers free debt advice to people across the London boroughs.
The relaunch on the 17th October 2016, and aims to make the public aware of the free services available.
Michael Dunlop, Marketing Manager said: “Capitalise aims to support people with tailored debt advice either face to face, telephone or email and will cover all the London Boroughs.”
‘There is a link with patients suffering from an illness or injury and time spent in hospital with debts accumulating’ according to the charity.
The launch coincides with The International day for the eradication of poverty.
The charity works with Macmillan Cancer Support offering financial advice when people need help.
Macmillan estimate 91% of households are affected by in a drop in income following diagnosis of a family member.
It is estimated by the charity that residents of Havering are 15% over-indebted and often unsure where to turn for help.
