London in Bloom is the Annual Awards that acknowledges local efforts to improve the outdoor environments.
The borough of Havering won 55 awards in total, 8 more than last year.
The Large Conservation was awarded to Hornchurch Country Park, and The Large Park of the Year was won by Raphael’s Park .
The best Town Centre won by Elm Park Town Centre.
Upminster Cemetery and South Essex Crematorium also received the prestigious Gold Award whilst Romford Cemetery retained its Silver Award.
On top of all the category awards, Havering went above and beyond and picked-up another Discretionary Award – The London in Bloom Allotment Award which was won by Keats Avenue Allotments.
Councillor Melvin Wallace, Cabinet Member for Culture & Community Engagement said:
“This year we have done exceptionally well, winning the most awards in London.”
The Council’s efforts to decorate Havering with a number of flower baskets and planters throughout the borough have paid off.
