Bedrock Radio is working hard this Christmas to provide news, features and of course, festive songs to patients across local hospitals & the wider community!

It’s no secret music can have a therapeutic effect on people, and it’s never more important than when you are in hospital.
Various studies have shown the benefits to patients – whether that’s to help provide a calming atmosphere before an operation, or to provide them with additional interaction and company during their stay.

This Christmas, extra shows are included on the schedules for Bedrock Radio! Playing festive tunes from over the decades with a few special guest presented shows. Including;

• Christmas Day With Santa (25/12 – 8AM)
• Chesney Hawkes Christmas Show (25/12 – 2PM),
• Bedrock Radio’s Most Requested 2021 (25/12 – 6PM – RPT 27/12 6PM )
• All Time 100 Covers with Claire Sturgess (27/12 – 10am)

Bedrock Radio provides a Community Hospital Radio that’s important service to patients & staff, the stations provide volunteers with excellent experience in radio broadcasting alongside the satisfaction of having a positive impact on thousands of people every year.

Bedrock Radio reaches its 20th anniversary in June 2022, the station has a rich heritage of founding hospital radio stations spanning back 58 years! Covering East London & South Essex. Today we continue to be run by volunteers & keep our founding stations legacy going by engaging with patients and staff to play their favourite songs and reach out to the community in Havering, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham to provide local news & promote a healthy lifestyle!
