Gallows Corner re-opening Delayed Until Spring 2026

Transport For London have confirmed a further delay to Gallows Corner. The junction is now expected to re-opening by Spring 2026. Until then, the junction is closed to all vehicle traffic except emergency services, black cabs, and Transport for London buses, while works continue.
Travel advice remains – Avoid travelling through Gallows Corner, use the diversions and expect noticeable delays during peak hours locally.

Community celebrates key milestone in M25 Junction 28 upgrade as secrets of forgotten aerodrome are revealed.

National Highways has been working hard since 2022 to improve J28 of the M25 and A12, which connects the capital with Essex.
With the construction phase now complete, a host of dignitaries and stakeholders were invited to celebrate the milestone and reflect on what came before the laying of the motorway. 
This included a poignant unveiling of a plaque in memory of an airman who tragically died in 1937, when the site was used as an airfield.
