Bus Strike: 13 East London Routes Hit in December and January

Bus passengers in East and Northeast London face severe disruption as Stagecoach drivers from the Lea Interchange Bus Garage plan four days of strikes: Friday 12 & Saturday 13 December 2025 and Thursday 8 & Friday 9 January 2026. Little or no service is expected on 13 routes, including key connections through Stratford, Walthamstow, and routes serving Homerton and Whipps Cross Hospitals.

Contactless Rail Travel To Be Expanded Across Parts Of Essex- Including 2 Airports

From Sunday 14 December 2025, you’ll be able to pay as you go with a contactless card or device at another 50 National Rail stations across the South East. Including expanding to 20 new stations on the Greater Anglia network, across Hertfordshire and Essex, from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport, Chelmsford, Southend Victoria and Witham.

Gallows Corner re-opening Delayed Until Spring 2026

Transport For London have confirmed a further delay to Gallows Corner. The junction is now expected to re-opening by Spring 2026. Until then, the junction is closed to all vehicle traffic except emergency services, black cabs, and Transport for London buses, while works continue.
Travel advice remains – Avoid travelling through Gallows Corner, use the diversions and expect noticeable delays during peak hours locally.

Community celebrates key milestone in M25 Junction 28 upgrade as secrets of forgotten aerodrome are revealed.

National Highways has been working hard since 2022 to improve J28 of the M25 and A12, which connects the capital with Essex.
With the construction phase now complete, a host of dignitaries and stakeholders were invited to celebrate the milestone and reflect on what came before the laying of the motorway. 
This included a poignant unveiling of a plaque in memory of an airman who tragically died in 1937, when the site was used as an airfield.

New Superloop Bus Route SL12 Confirmed.

Transport For London have announced their decision to proceed to introduce new Superloop route SL12 operating as a limited-stop service, to be introduced during 2026. The SL12 will run every 12 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes and every 15 minutes during Sundays, evenings and early mornings.
The launch date will be communicated nearer to the time, supported with comprehensive customer information. TfL received over 800 responses to the consultation.

Tube and DLR Strikes – September 2025

Strikes are planned on the Tube and DLR between 7 and 12 September.

On Sunday 7 September, there will be disruption across the Tube, with limited services running
From Monday 8 to Thursday 11 September 2025, Tube services will be severely disrupted, with little to no service expected
On Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 September 2025, there will also be no service on the DLR
If you need to travel, expect other services, including the Elizabeth line, London Overground, Buses, c2c, Greater Anglia will be extremely busy – At times, they may not be able to stop at stations shared with the Tube due to the Underground staff strike action….

Plan Ahead for Gallows Corner Closure During Major Upgrades.

Transport For London announced From 21:00 on Monday 23 June until September 2025, there will be a full closure of Gallows Corner junction, of both the roundabout and flyover to All vehicle traffic, with only emergency vehicles, black cabs and TfL buses able to use the junction, along with walking and cycling routes maintained across the junction.

No general traffic will be able to make journeys through Gallows Corner in any direction.
