Barking and Dagenham Teenage Conception Rate Falls by More Than 15%
The under-18 conception rate in Barking and Dagenham has fallen by more than 15 per cent, according to the latest Office for National Statistics figures. The borough recorded one of London’s biggest year-on-year improvements between 2022 and 2023.

Gallows Corner Closures Roll Into August
Works at Gallows corner have been extended again until ‘End Of August’ according to Transport For London (TfL), as Essex & Suffolk Water are still working on the water main that spans the junction.

South Ockendon Charity Awarded £10,000
Trust Links has been awarded £10,000 through the Lower Thames Crossing Community Fund to create a new community garden on the Flowers Estate in South Ockendon. The project will help local residents learn gardening skills, grow food and take part in wellbeing activities, while tackling social isolation.
Major Upgrades Underway for Brentwood’s Playgrounds
Improvement works are getting underway this week to refresh and upgrade several play areas across Brentwood Borough.
